To our Sonoma County community: thank you. 💛

Every meal we hand out, every pair of socks, every warm conversation on a cold street corner happens because of you. Since 2019, you've shown up for our neighbors living outside, again and again.

Mother Nature is a funny thing right now. The days are warm, but the nights are already frigid, and for someone sleeping outside, that cold doesn't let up until morning. Soon the days will turn colder and the rain will soak through everything. For our unsheltered neighbors, this is the hardest time of the year.

At our December Holiday Event, we want to place a backpack into the hands of every guest, filled with what they need to stay safe, dry, warm and clean all winter: blankets, gloves, a beanie, socks, hand warmers, a rain poncho and hygiene essentials.

Picture being handed a gift like that after so many long, cold nights outside. It's more than supplies. It says someone out there cares, and you matter.

🎒 Goal: $2,395.80 by December 5 for 132 backpacks
💚 $18.15 gives one backpack, shipping included

Thy Neighbor, a new documentary by filmmaker Eliza Hemenway, is an eyewitness account of our community in crisis. It tells the story of the Joe Rodota Trail, a mile of tents that became home to hundreds of our unsheltered neighbors.

It asks an essential question: what is our responsibility, as individuals and as a society, to care for the most vulnerable among us?

📅 World Premiere: Thurs, Oct 15, 7 PM, Sebastiani Theatre, 476 First Street East, Sonoma

Sonoma County Acts of Kindness was born on the Joe Rodota Trail in November 2019. It's where our relationships with our unsheltered neighbors began, and where we came to know them, care for them, and love them like family. Many of those friendships are still with us today, and some of the people we met there will always hold a place in our hearts.

Eliza, thank you for staying with this story for so many years and making sure it gets told. 💛

To our community: thank you for continuing to show up for our unsheltered neighbors. The crisis isn't over, and neither is the kindness.

What a night! 🤡🖤

Friday's Punk Clown Takeover raised OVER $2,000 for our unsheltered community!

Moira Scar, Skye Langenhahn, and everyone at P.U.R.R. (Punks United in Real Resistance), we didn't have to lift a finger. You planned it, organized it, and made it happen from start to finish, and all we had to do was show up and have a great time (and we did!). We're so grateful for what you did for us.

A huge thank you to Casey Williams and Barrel Proof Lounge for providing the venue so this night could come to life, and to the Barrel Proof staff for taking such good care of everyone.

To Menstrual Tramps (all the way from Minneapolis!), Fatale, Damage Party, and Hellbound Pound: thank you for giving your time and talent to this cause. You brought so much energy to that room! 🎸 And thank you to DJ Armagidon for the hardcore punk vinyl all night.

Titus Androgynous, your drag performance was unforgettable! 💄

Thank you to everyone at the D.I.Y. Punk Clown Market: Dark Hearts Vintage, P*ss* Heaven Distro, Zombie Junkyard, Bead Wizard, and Fire Goddess for the amazing clown face painting.

Thank you to Northbay Pyrate Punx for tabling, Tacos El Gran Mac for feeding everyone, and for the incredible flyer art.

We don't have everyone's names, but a big shout out to everyone who helped in any way to make this event such a huge success. We see you and we're so grateful! 🙌

And to everyone who came out to support: thank you! You paid at the door, shopped the market, came dressed in your best clown looks, and filled that room with so much love. This doesn't happen without you. 💛

The timing couldn't be better. The nights are getting colder, and our friends need gloves, beanies, hand warmers, and rain ponchos. This will also help make our holiday events in November and December possible.

Thank you for showing up for our neighbors.

📸 Got photos from the night? If you post them, tag Sonoma County Acts of Kindness. We'd love to see them!

Why this matters: We're on the streets every single day delivering food, water, hygiene kits, tents, tarps, sleeping bags, and clothing to our unhoused and financially underprivileged neighbors. We believe basic necessities and kindness are non-negotiable — and every dollar raised at this event goes straight back into that work.

Come party with a purpose. See you October 9th!
