Celebrating creativity doesn’t look the same for everyone.

Some people start by learning more. Others support educators, participate locally, or help build momentum in their community. What matters is that there are many ways to engage—and that creativity is supported in ways that feel meaningful and possible.

As part of Spark Creativity for Brighter Futures, our year-long campaign with Create CA, they’ve gathered tools and resources to help people participate in their own way.

🙌Kick off of Reggio Emilia Fall 2026 Cohort!

In September, the Sonoma County Office of Education began a professional development series on the Reggio Emilia Approach in partnership with Creative Sonoma.

🖌️Over 35 early childhood educators and providers used drawing to express and convey understanding and meaning. Regardless of artistic skill level, each attendee was able to consider each assignment deeply, express their observation through drawing, and inquire and share among others.

🎨Those participating in the series represent 4Cs Sonoma County and Multicultural Children Center as well as educators from these school districts: Kenwood Elementary, Piner-Olivet, Monte Rio, Rincon Valley, Roseland, and Wright.

Creativity isn’t limited to one career path.
Doctors, engineers, educators, and leaders all rely on the same underlying capacity: the ability to think flexibly, solve complex problems, and imagine better outcomes. That’s why creativity matters across every field—and why it fuels a powerful creative economy.

In California alone, creative industries support millions of jobs. Arts education helps prepare students not just for one role, but for a lifetime of work that requires adaptability and insight.

Spark Creativity for Brighter Futures is a year-long campaign with Create CA celebrating creativity as an essential skill for learning, work, and life.
