Santo Volunteer Fire & EMS The Santo Volunteer Fire & EMS Department serves the residents of Santo and visitors to our area in southeastern Palo Pinto County

The Santo Volunteer Fire & EMS Department proudly serves a 114 square mile area in the southeastern portion of Palo Pinto County. We are located approximately 61 miles west of Fort Worth and approximately 192 miles north/northwest of Austin. The department operates out of one station and has ten emergency vehicles and two trailers - Utility 13, Engine 13, Medic 13, Medic 213, Brush 13, Brush 213, Brush 313, Rescue 13, Tender 13 and TAC 13. Santo VFD’s membership is made up entirely of volunteers who respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to alarms, fires, motor vehicle accidents, public assistance calls, etc. These men and women possess certifications ranging from Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) (First Responder) to Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic and freely offer their skills, time, and talents to provide protection and peace of mind to the residents of Santo. In September 2021, EMS transitioned to 24/7 coverage for the area inside of Palo Pinto County ESD #2. As is emblazoned on our equipment and apparel, we do it “So That Others May Live”.
