Chief Perrotte presented to members of our Senior Community today at the Senior Center about scams, fraud, elder abuse, and other matters of public safety. It was great to have our new Code Enforcement Officer, Christian Rottner, join us. He was able to answer questions about properly selecting a contractor for home repairs. Village Manager Brandee Reiley also joined us. As always a special thanks to our Administrative Assistant Julia Coffman for her work behind the scenes.

What a great showing this morning for our Coffee with a Cop event. This Community is truly special. We had many Community members stop in and chat about various issues ranging from E-bike safety, election laws, public safety services in the Community, and more. We were even joined by Village Manager Brandee Reiley and Harrietstown Town Supervisor Jordanna Mallach. We appreciate everyone who stopped in and look forward to more events throughout the year. Another huge thanks to Early Dawn Confections for hosting us and the amazing coffee and sweets!

Officer Lavare participated in the Walk and Roll to school this morning with St Bernard's students. The group met up in the parking lot of Woods and Waters and took the rail trail across town safely arriving at St Bernards. This is such an important program connecting Students and our Officers and promoting a safe and healthy option to get to school.

Apparently, word has gotten around the local deer population that Saranac Lake is a pretty great place to live.

Our four-legged residents have become so comfortable around town that we’re beginning to think they’ve officially established residency. They’re strolling through neighborhoods, checking out lawns, visiting with friends, and apparently conducting their own version of foot patrol.

We love living in a community where the Adirondacks and village life come together — and sometimes that means your neighbors have four legs and absolutely no concern about trespassing signs!

As always, please use a little extra caution while driving, especially around dawn and dusk. Our local deer don’t always look both ways before crossing, and judging by these pictures, they’re getting very comfortable with village life.

Only in Saranac Lake! ❤️🦌🍂
