C'est la vie! ๐
This isn't just something we say because we are in Downtown Sarasota... we also say it when we want to indulge in delicious French food! ๐ซ๐ท
"Christophe and Geraldine Coutelle created Cโest La Vie Downtown Sarasota in 1997 after moving to the US that same year. It was their mission to bring an authentic French bistro experience to America. When Cโest la Vie opened its doors in 1997, it was one of the first restaurants downtown to offer outdoor seating like many established bistros in France." ๐ฅ

The City of Sarasota Public Art Program is inviting the community to help shape what comes next at the site formerly home to Mr. Red, located at the intersection of Gulfstream Avenue and Cocoanut Avenue.
Following significant hurricane damage, the sculpture has been relocated to City Hall. Weโre now gathering community input to help guide the future of this site.
This is a highly visible waterfront location with unique environmental conditions. Any future artwork placed here will need to be thoughtfully designed and structurally robust enough to withstand strong winds, salt air, and severe weather events.
Possible directions may include a new sculpture, a relocated artwork from the Cityโs collection, a piece inspired by Mr. Red, or something entirely new.
You can share your ideas by taking a brief survey at:
https://engage.sarasotafl.gov/replacing-mr-red
The survey requires a simple login using a valid email address to help ensure accurate results and prevent duplicate responses. No additional personal information is required, and email addresses will not be used for any other purpose.
The survey closes this Sunday, April 26 at 11:59 p.m. Feedback will be shared with the Public Art Committee at its May 6 meeting to help inform next steps.
