We had a blast with Temple Sinai, Sarasota, FL at our PJ Partner Program this Sunday! Families learned about inner and outer strength, as well as Jewish and secular heroes. We read Zishe the Strongman together and made family crests/shields.

First, see the beautiful new additions to our campus, including the Stone Lodge, our imaginative, one-of-a-kind playground, courts for basketball, tennis, and pickleball, and more! Then, we will walk together to The Ora for a fun family concert with ShirLaLa!

The concert with ShirLaLa will begin at 2:00pm at The Ora (578 McIntosh Road, Sarasota).

We had a great time celebrating with the community at the PJ Library Passover Picnic on Sunday! Families decorated Elijah’s cup, made beaded bracelets, colored Passover pictures, etched out designs on paper, and kids searched the park during the afikomen hunt.

Ready to celebrate with simcha this Purim?

Simcha (pronounced seem-CHAH) is Hebrew for joy, and it can also mean the silliness of Purim.

Here are some popular ways families celebrate:

🎪 Attend a Purim carnival, complete with costumes.

🍲 Get together with friends for a delicious meal.

🎉 Have a family celebration with singing, dancing, and games.

🎭 It’s also customary to act out the Purim story in a spiel (Yiddish for "play"). A Purimspiel can include costumes, jokes, funny voices, puppets, and even parodies of well-known songs.
