This funding will help us continue providing nutritious meals, wellness checks, and compassionate support to homebound and senior African American residents throughout Sarasota. We are so grateful for partners who believe in strengthening our community and ensuring our neighbors can age with dignity and care. 💙

June 1 marks the beginning of hurricane season, and Meals on Wheels of Sarasota is working to ensure our clients are prepared in the event of an emergency. Our 2026 Hurricane Kit Project is a wonderful example of what can happen when community partners come together to care for our neighbors.👊💪

A huge thank you to Karen and her volunteer group at Temple Emanu-El for assembling the kits and providing many of the essential supplies that made this project possible.🛍

We also want to thank Church of the Redeemer for helping us store all 100 kits before distribution.✝

And thank you to our incredible partners for donating items to help make these kits truly emergency ready:

• Temple Emanu-El – lanterns, first aid kits, battery-powered radios, hurricane bags, and crossword puzzles
• Daniella at Bank of America – body wipes
• All Faiths Food Bank – hand sanitizer and nonperishable food items
• American Red Cross – collapsible water bottles and hurricane preparation checklists
