With over 15 years of community commitment, civic engagement champion and neighborhood leader Jennifer Ahearn-Koch is running for Sarasota City Commission.
With more than a decade and a half of civic engagement under her belt, Jennifer Ahearn-Koch throws her hat in the ring for Sarasota City Commission At-Large. Her experience includes six years on the City’s Planning Board, as well as continued service on several local boards dedicated to our now famous Sarasota quality of life. During her campaign, Jen hopes voters will see her as more than just a neighborhood advocate. Working as a public relations and marketing professional in the City for the past 20 years has equipped her with a fundamental understanding of what makes a business successful, as well as the needs and desires of residents. Our city has seen rapid growth in recent years. As it continues to evolve, Jen advocates the City's progress includes the valuable input and wealth of resources of our residents to ensure development that is compatible, sustainable, and successful—quality development. As the future unfolds, Jen hopes to help unveil a growing Sarasota that attracts residents from a variety of backgrounds looking for our famous quality of life and encourages our youth to remain and help develop the future of our city. “It’s about the city transitioning,” says Jen. “It’s not what it was, and it never will be what it was. But I have children, and I would love to see them come back here. I want it to be a city they want to come back to.”
