Our Executive Director, Brian Walton, was invited to speak to the Women's Club of the Cascades yesterday. Brian shared about the work of Save Our Seabirds, why birds matter, and what we can all do to help preserve the beautiful avian diversity we all enjoy. The group made a donation, and discussed plans to visit Save Our Seabirds in the very near future.

Brian is available, and would love to visit with your club or group!

The Bay Sarasota invited us to setup a display and join them for the opening evening of their 4th Anniversary Celebration. The event was an outdoor screening of “The Maltese Falcon” - which is celebrating its 85th Anniversary. We met some wonderful people, had a number of really great conversations and even received a few donations. They treated us really well - we are grateful for wonderful community partners!

Last week we hosted an OUTSTANDING group of students from North Port High School. There were three different groups. The kids from the construction/shop class spent the day cutting, prepping and installing posts. Art students spent the day drawing our birds - working on projects that will later be submitted into a competition. And marketing students from the Deca Club met with our Executive Director and spent the day brainstorming ideas to help us with our social media. These young people had great attitudes, a desire to help, and were a delight to be around. Thank you Sarasota County Schools for shaping the future. These young people were awesome!

Save Our Seabirds could not and would not exist without the love and generous support of our community. Last night we were humbled to receive the "Cultural Enrichment Award" from the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce. We are grateful to our small and dedicated staff, our army of committed volunteers, our generous donors, and our fully engaged Board of Directors. We feel the love - and because of you the birds do too!
