It's Turtle Season again!
Mote has been working since 1982 to conserve sea turtles.
The program includes staff, interns and volunteers who monitor 35 miles of beaches in Sarasota and Manatee counties daily to check for new nests.

In 2014, Mote researcher Dr. Kellie Dixon was the subject of an oral history by New College student Mary Robertson. Dr. Dixon has worked at Mote since 1978, moving from volunteer to Program Manager of the Chemical and Physical Ecology group. New collection! The Herbert W. Monaghan Explorer Collection includes books about sailing, underwater archaeology, and much more. Selections such as Gypsy Moth Circles the World and An Ocean to Ourselves are sure to tickle the imagination of your inner explorer. This collection was graciously donated by a former Mote volunteer in memory of her husband.
