Myakka River State Park’s Junior Ranger Jamboree 2026 was a huge success! More than 185 new Junior Rangers were sworn in yesterday.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, including rangers from across District 4, for making this event so special. Throughout the day, Junior Rangers learned about Florida State Parks, Florida’s unique environment, and the incredible wildlife that calls our parks home.

We’re proud to inspire the next generation of park stewards and outdoor explorers!

Join Florida Park Rangers at Myakka River State Park on May 16 for a fun-filled day of hands-on activities, music, and adventure designed especially for future Junior Rangers.

You’ll have the opportunity to complete activities, learn about Florida’s natural resources, and earn your Junior Ranger title!

Plus, The Daily Paleta will be on site serving their delicious organic popsicles 🍧

Today we discovered a group of local artists transforming the beauty of Myakka River State Park into art. The talented painters of Chasing the Light set up their easels throughout the park, capturing peaceful landscapes and vibrant scenes on canvas.

We love seeing the many ways people connect with and experience Myakka — through hiking, wildlife watching, photography, and now, painting. Every visit tells a different story.

This Saturday, at the Junior Ranger Jamboree, you can experience the freshest, healthiest, and most satisfying treat.! The Paleta!

These are not your ordinary popsicle, the Daily Paleta makes them fresh every day with a mouth-watering variety of seasonal, organic and natural ingredients for a deliciously distinct and wholly refreshing popsicle experience.

But you can only find them in Myakka River State Park this Saturday from 10-2pm. So don't miss your chance to become a Junior Ranger while enjoying this unique treat!
