Sarasota High School JROTC

To all instructors, alumni and cadets, I have been an administrator for this page since 2010, when I was the Booster President. My cadet graduated several years ago, and I'm noticing that the current administrators are not too involved with the program. I remain in contact with Sgt. Pulphus, and think both instructors should have administrative privileges. Any ideas on who to turn the page over to? It's ashame that it's not being maintained. We used to have fun with the group, and that trend should continue! Thanks, Theresa Morton

Hey folks, this is primarily directed towards current students and Booster parents. As you can tell, the page doesn't make many posts. This is mainly because everyone who can post as the page is an alumni, and for the most part, not living in Florida any longer. So, I'd like to add a couple of people who are currently with the program to be able to post as the page and share the program's current happenings. If this is you, either leave a comment here or send the page a message, and I can get things set up for you. -MB

For those interested, we're coming back from the trail trip a day early due to Tropical Storm Debbie. Well, we aren't moving too far right now; all that red line on southbound I-75 is standstill traffic due to an incident about 7 miles from us.

Cadets from Desoto, Riverview, and Sarasota High Schools finished their 5-day, 50 mile trek on the Appalachian Trail earlier this afternoon and are now enjoying a great meal at Fontana Dam. Supporting the cadets on their hike were the instructors from each school, 6 chaperones, and 2 Active Duty Army NCOs. Great job to all who completed the challenging hike!

So I have an idea for all of you guys. So I'm thinking about doing a potluck this summer and want to see how is willing to can and what day will be the best day?

So, I just dropped a check in the mail as a donation to the upcoming golf event. What've you done to support it? - MB

Calling all fans!!!! The program is having its First Annual Golf Outting at Heritage Oaks on October 9. We are hoping to make up to $10,000 for this outting and need your help. Visit school and pick up some packets for solicitation of hole sponsors, raffle items and golfers!!! Thanks to Judy Johnston, one of our cadet's grandparents, the planning of this event is well underway.

Hey Alumni folks - If you didn't know, we have a website, and I'm actually in the middle of redesigning the template for it (nothing fancy, but it's a nice change I think). Of course, you don't have to take my or the picture's word for it. We have a forum too (granted, there's nothing there right now, I'll change that one day...) which has the new template loaded up to it.
