The SHARE Resource Center is a 24/7 center that provides support for survivors and their friends, in addition to being a community education resource.

Tomorrow is the SAAM 2016 Zine Launch & Bake Sale! Stop by SHARE Center at 6pm after the Day of Dialogue for some great baked goods.

The New College Sexual Assault Awareness Month planning team is putting together a zine this year on recovery, trauma, and resistance called:

✳Bite Back.✳


Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to submit graphic and written work to be included in this years zine.

You do not need to identify as a victim to contribute to this zine. Survivors, friends and family of survivors, and everyone else impacted by patriarchal r**e culture is encouraged to contribute their experiences.

1000 word limit per submission (due to spacing)

Works should be submitted with appropriate content warnings.

Submissions will be reviewed by the SAAM planning committee. Your work can be submitted anonymously or under a pseudonym if preferable.

Some ideas of what to submit include:
short prose
mantras
poetry
artwork
typography
photographs (no recognizable faces should be included)
etc. etc.

Previous SAAM zines are available in SHARE to see what they typically look like.

Deadline for submissions is March 28th.

Formatting may be changed with the google form.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

InterACT has prepared a week of events to help promote domestic violence recognition and show support to survivors!

Monday
Wear Purple for Domestic Violence Awareness!
InterACT will be tabling in Ham from 11 to 1 providing purple ribbons and information on resources and support!

Tuesday
Survivor Support Crafts!
Help us craft note and pictures of encouragement to have in SHARE for survivors! There will be snacks and coloring pages available.

Wednesday
Healthy Relationships Workshop!
An advocate from SPARCC will be coming on campus to present on what makes a romantic relationship empowering and how to recognize warning signs.
(7 pm. Ace Lounge)

Thursday
Media Literacy Presentation
How do the images we see everyday effect our ideas of a healthy relationship? Our own health education will be facilitating a workshop on decoding the messages the media gives us.
(7 pm. ACE lounge)

InterACT will be hosting a workshop on Thursday discussing the basics of Bystander Intervention!

What is bystander intervention? What does it mean to be an engaged bystander on our campus? We'll be addressing these questions and more as we work through when, where, and how to step in to prevent potentially dangerous situations.

There is a CW for s*xual assault and relationship violence for this workshop.
