The kids in the Better Tomorrows summer program are participating in the SUNCOAST 2017 SUMMER BOOK CHALLENGE hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota and The Patterson Foundation. This is a part of The Campaign for Grade-Level Reading initiative.

A little over 14 hours from now (12 noon tomorrow) Better Tomorrows will participate in the 2016 Giving Challenge. A donation as small as $25 can help change kids lives. Each donation will be matched by the Patterson Foundation, so your contribution, at the least, will be doubled! Better Tomorrows will be participating in the 2016 Giving Challenge of September 20 and 21. The Giving Challenge starts at 12 noon on September 20 and ends at 11:59:59 on September 21. During this time, all contributions will be matched by the Patterson Foundation. The funds raised will go towards our youth educational support programs. These programs consist of the After School/ Homework Help program and the Summer Enrichment program. These programs have helped kids in the Newtown Community achieve academic success. Please consider donating to Better Tomorrows during the 2016 Giving Challenge.

Our kids are shinning! Check out Lyia's score on a Reading Fluency Assessment. The irony is her mom received a note from her teacher on the first day of school stating how Lydia couldn't keep up with the other kids in class and she was "behind" the other kids. How could the teacher come to that conclusion about her after one day? As the kids say, the teacher "tried" Lydia!
