The Sarcoxie Rural Fire Department is actively looking for volunteers to join our team!

🔥 NO PRIOR TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! 🔥

That’s right! You don’t have to know anything about firefighting before you join. We provide the training you need to learn, grow, and become part of the team.

But being a firefighter is about more than just fighting fires. It’s about serving your neighbors, building lifelong friendships, supporting one another, and becoming part of a firehouse family that looks out for each other both on and off duty.

❤️ At our firehouse, you’re not just joining a department — you’re joining a family. We work together, learn together, and stand beside each other when our community needs us most.

You don’t have to be a hero to get started. You just have to have the willingness to learn, the desire to help others, and the heart to serve your community.

🔥 BURNING SAFETY REMINDER 🔥

Although we are NOT currently under a burn ban, please understand that conditions are still extremely dry. We have received some recent rain, but it has not been enough to eliminate the fire danger.

In the last 3 days, our department has responded to:

• 2 grass fires caused by burning brush/trash
• 1 grass fire started when a mower struck a rock while mowing a field

Dry vegetation can ignite and spread very quickly, even after recent rainfall.

If you choose to burn, please use EXTREME CAUTION. Keep fires small, never leave them unattended, have water and tools readily available, and make absolutely sure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving.

Please don’t let the fact that we aren’t under a burn ban give you a false sense of security.

It only takes one spark to start a fire.

🚨🔥 BURN BAN REMINDER — PLEASE HELP US KEEP OUR COMMUNITY SAFE! 🔥🚨

Our firefighters have been working extremely hard responding to fires throughout our area. With the continued dry conditions, every fire puts a tremendous strain on our department and the firefighters who are giving their time to protect our community.

We want to remind everyone that Sarcoxie Rural Fire District remains under a BURN BAN until further notice. 🚫🔥

Please do your part:
❌ No burning brush or leaves
❌ No trash burning
❌ No open burning of any kind

One small fire can quickly become a much larger incident, putting homes, property, and firefighters at risk.

🙏 Please help our firefighters by following the burn ban and avoiding unnecessary fire calls.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support as our crews continue working hard to protect our community.

The Sarcoxie Rural Fire District will be set up with a First Aid & Hydration Station during Chief Sarcoxie Days! 🇺🇸

It’s going to be another hot one, so stop by, say hello, and grab yourself a FREE bottle of water! 💧

Need a little first aid? We’ve got you covered. Need to cool down? Come see us for some FREE WATER! 💦

It’s a beautiful Sunday morning, so after you leave church, come on out and see us at the MDA Boot Block! 🥾💙

We’ll be out here collecting donations to help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and every little bit makes a difference.

But you don’t have to bring a donation to come see us! If you just want to stop by, say hello, chat with the firefighters, or see what we’re all about, we’d love to visit with you. 👋

🚒❤️ SARCOXIE RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENT IS FILLING THE BOOT FOR MDA! ❤️🚒

Starting Friday evening and continuing through Labor Day, you’ll see members of the Sarcoxie Rural Fire Department and some of our local kids out at High Street & Highway 37 helping us Fill the Boot for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

🥾 Every donation, big or small, makes a difference and helps support MDA and the families they serve. If you’re able, please consider stopping by and helping us fill that boot!

⚠️ PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION!

As you approach High Street & Highway 37, please slow down, stay alert, and watch for our firefighters and children in the roadway collecting donations. Your safety—and theirs—is our top priority.

Current and forecasted dry weather conditions with frequent emergency fire responses already occurred in the area are demonstrating it is dangerous and unfavorable for safe outdoor burning. Effective 9/1/26 a Burn Ban has been issued for the City of Sarcoxie until further notice.
