The USD 507 Care Closet will be open during Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 22, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Our students have been hard at work organizing donated items! We have a wide assortment of coats and jackets, a limited supply of nonperishable food, and a generous supply of toiletries available to anyone in our community who needs them.

As always, these items are freely given and freely received. Please take what you need and give what you can.

We are also accepting donations again! Here’s how you can help meet our greatest needs:

Clothing: Clothing for children and teens is most needed. Items should be clean, preferably come from smoke-free homes, and meet our school’s dress code. Please bring donations during school hours, when someone can assist you with drop-off, rather than leaving bags outside our doors.

Household items and toys: We are not currently equipped to distribute these items. Please consider donating them to another organization that can put them to good use.

Food: Canned goods are appreciated, but ready-to-eat foods and easy-to-prepare meals are especially helpful for students who prepare food themselves. Families also appreciate pantry staples such as flour, sugar, cooking oil, dry beans, and bags of long-grain rice.

Cleaning and laundry supplies: We receive generous donations of soap, toothpaste, and other personal care items, but cleaning products and laundry detergent are rarely donated. These everyday essentials help families maintain clean clothes and healthy homes, and donations would help fill an important gap.

Monetary donations: Every dollar donated to the Care Closet is spent locally at Satanta Grocery. Your gift supports both local families and a local business.

No matter how you give, thank you for giving thoughtfully and helping us care for our school and community!
