Today, members of St. Clair Special Emergency Services, along with Madison County TRT and the Belleville Fire Department, conducted hands-on building collapse training focused on strengthening our technical rescue capabilities.
Crews practiced multiple collapse rescue techniques, including cutting, breaching, and breaking operations. Members also utilized specialized camera equipment to search void spaces beneath a collapse pile.
The training also included elevated concrete-breaching operations, where rescuers worked from rope systems to safely access and breach concrete from an elevated position.
Training like this allows our members to continue building the skills, teamwork, and proficiency needed to safely and effectively operate during complex structural collapse incidents.
