🚨We have a situation developing here! Our officers are trained in all types of situations, but we aren't prepared for the Lock City Halloween Spooktacular and Parade of Frights falling on a Friday with Halloween on a Saturday 🙀.

🚓We are calling for backup... preferably in the form of chocolate, suckers, fruit snacks, and any other pre-wrapped goodies that will keep treats from turning to tricks. That's where YOU come in! We are asking our community to build our stockpile with even more candy than usual because we are expecting more kids than usual. We appreciate you!💙

A heartfelt thank you to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office and Sault Tribe Police Department for covering our patrol shifts and to MSP for adding coverage to the county during this time. This allowed all of us to attend Retired Sergeant Kaczmarek's funeral. This meant more to our officers and his family than words can describe. 💙

Today we lost a true friend. Retired Sergeant Nate Kaczmarek was not only a leader, but a mentor and someone we could always count on. He was the person we all turned to when we needed guidance, encouragement, or someone to lean on.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones as we grieve the loss of such an amazing man who meant so much to all of us.

🎃 Halloween is almost here, and we need your help! 🍬👻

With downtown festivities on Friday and Halloween falling on Saturday, we're expecting plenty of little ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and princesses roaming around this year!

We're reaching out to our wonderful community for candy donations to help us keep those treat bags full and the little monsters happy! Any donations are greatly appreciated. 🍫🍭

Officer Raymond Brooks had the honor of presenting Officer Michael Rand with a Lifesaving Commendation Award. Officer Rand responded to a call of a person who wanted to harm themselves by walking into a river or using sharp objects. Officer Rand began checking the nearby bridges and located the person on the East Portage Avenue Bridge. The person climbed over the railing. Officer Rand spoke with the subject as a distraction until he was able to move close enough to grab the person’s arm to pull them to safety. Officer Rand maintained awareness and control by removing a knife from the person’s hand. He is an inspiring example of courage, sound judgement, and compassion.

We got to hang out with a great crowd of people Saturday at the International Festival of Races Bridge Run. We are very grateful to have such a supportive community.

What a great way to spend a Saturday. The International Festival of Races included a race against the Sault PD bike patrol!
