I've lived the American dream, and I believe it's becoming more and more difficult for the younger generation to achieve.

If I can be a part of turning that around, I'd love to be known as someone who made a difference. I want to make District 54B the premier place to live in Minnesota, and Minnesota the premier place to live in the United States.

Minnesota's goal is carbon-free electricity by 2040. 💡At the Shakopee Chamber candidate forum last week, I was asked whether to keep it.

My answer: At the moment, we don't make any adjustments to that goal. Renewable energy has come down in cost exponentially over the last several years and become much more reliable and cost-effective.

And if conditions change, it always makes sense to reevaluate.

Dark money has apparently entered the MN House District 54b race with this ad portraying me as a radical libtard tax and spend communist socialist while mispronouncing my name. Anyone believing that either doesn’t know me or hasn’t done any real research on for what I stand. I’m not a culture warrior. What I am is a person who is very fiscally responsible and has very specific ideas on how to improve the lives of the residents of this district and the state.

I'm proud to be endorsed by Education Minnesota.

At the Shakopee Chamber candidate forum, I said what I believe: our school districts are good stewards of the funds we give them. Education is the greatest way for individuals, communities, states, and countries to lift themselves up collectively, and it benefits all of us, whether we have children in the district or not.

Health insurance premiums are one of the biggest costs families and small businesses face. At the Shakopee Chamber candidate forum last week, I was asked what I'd do first. My answer: break up the vertically integrated health insurers.

When one company runs the clinics, controls the doctors, the PBMs, and the pharmacies, it gets to set its own rates. That's driving up costs for the consumer.

At last Thursday's Shakopee Chamber candidate forum, I was asked whether one-year tax buydowns are good tax policy.

My answer: One-year decreases seem like more of a gimmick than anything else. I don't support gimmicks. I support sound fiscal policy.

Five weeks from today, this is decided. 📆

Early voting has been open since September 18. If you want a ballot mailed to you, request it now rather than in the last week — it has to be received by Election Day, not postmarked by it.

If you need to register in advance, that closes on October 13.

And if you're wondering whether a state house race matters: your state representative votes on your school funding, your county roads, your water, your property tax refund. Not on anything you saw on cable news last night.

That's the whole pitch. It's a local job. I'd like to do it.

The least glamorous bill of the session was also one of the most bipartisan.

This spring, the Legislature passed a $1.24 billion capital investment bill. It cleared the House 122 to 11 and the Senate 50 to 7. About $420 million of it goes to local water and wastewater infrastructure, $177 million to transportation, and $47 million to local road improvement grants.

Nobody made a viral video about it.
💦 It's just water that's safe to drink and roads that don't destroy your alignment.

That's most of the job, honestly. Your state representative votes on your water treatment plant, your county road, and your school's roof. Those votes don't trend.

They just decide what your town is like to live in for the next thirty years.🗳️

☝️I'd rather be the person who reads the bonding bill than the person who posts about it.
