Today, the United States Coast Guard joins the entire Nation in honoring the brave men and women across all branches of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Whether on land, at sea, in the air, or in space, those who gave their lives in defense of our freedoms share a unified legacy of courage, service, and devotion. On this Memorial Day, we remember our fallen heroes in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard.
We stand with their families, loved ones, and communities today and always. The weight of their sacrifice spans across every branch, and their memories will never be forgotten.

The Eagle has landed in Savannah! 🦅⛵️
Early this morning, our crew alongside USCGC Ibis and Msu Savannah had the pleasure of escorting USCGC EAGLE up into the Savannah River.
The legendary Eagle is bringing with it over 295 feet of maritime history, tradition, and leadership to our waterfront.
Known as “America’s Tall Ship,” EAGLE serves as a training platform for future Coast Guard officers and ambassadors of the service around the world.
We are happy to welcome their crew to the Coastal Empire! ⚓️🌊

⚠️ MARINER ADVISORY – SKIDAWAY RIVER / ICW ⚠️
The sailing vessel SUN DANCE is currently partially submerged near the federal navigation channel of the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), in the vicinity of Buoy 48A on the Skidaway River near the Isle of Hope Marina.
📍 Last Known Position:
31°58'24.1"N 81°03'10.2"W
The vessel is located approximately 60 feet outside of the channel, but it has the potential to shift or swing up to 35 feet during tidal cycles, which could place it closer to or partially within the navigation channel.
A lighted buoy has been placed near the vessel to enhance visibility. Current images and charted location are provided below.
Mariners Are Advised To:
• Exercise extreme caution when transiting the area
• Proceed at the slowest safe speed to minimize wake
• Maintain a sharp lookout for submerged debris or exposed structure
If conditions change or the vessel becomes an immediate hazard to navigation, updates will be provided promptly.
Please share with fellow mariners and remain vigilant while operating in this area.

On Sunday evening, a U.S. Coast Guard Station Tybee boat crew responded to assist a kayaker who was stuck in the mud near Oyster Creek amid worsening weather and poor communications. Chatham County Sheriff's Office and Law Enforcement Division - Georgia DNR crews also responded.
The boat crew located the stranded kayaker and safely transported him to Bull River Marina, where he was reunited with his family.

Kicking off 2026, we said farewell to several outstanding shipmates as they take the next steps in their Coast Guard careers. We wish FN Ceballos the best of luck as he heads to MST A-School, and SN Leblanc as he departs for ME A-School. Both members have made meaningful contributions to Station Tybee, and we’re proud to see them move forward in their professional journeys. 🎓
We also had the privilege of welcoming Command Master Chief Audette for a recent visit. During his time with our crew, he answered questions, spoke about the future and direction of the Coast Guard, and took the opportunity to recognize some members with challenge coins for their hard work and dedication. 🪙
Our crew here at Station Tybee is energized, motivated, and starting the year off strong as Guardians of the Coastal Empire. ⚓️🚤
