During SEDA's May Board of Directors meeting, board members and guests were introduced to GeorgiaFIRST Robotics, an initiative that motivates youth to take on leadership roles in science and technology through various programs, including the FIRST Robotics Competition. This competition involves teams that design, program and construct robots using a standard kit of parts and a shared set of rules to compete in a themed head-to-head challenge.

Savannah had not one but two small businesses honored at the ROCK STARS presentation this week. Created by the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Georgia Economic Developers Association, ROCK STARS recognizes and commends the innovations, community engagement, and positive impact of the state’s small businesses.
Proudly based in Savannah, Greenfield LLC exports Georgia forestry products to more than a dozen international markets. Launched in 2020, the company ships logs, lumber, biomass, and woodchips through the nearby Port of Savannah, its primary gateway to the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
