Newest update from the weather channel looks like south of us will get the most of it. Will update with any new information as I receive it !! Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible this evening in the 7-11PM timeframe. The primary hazards are damaging wind gusts up to 80 mph and heavy rainfall, but storms earlier on in the event could also be capable of producing large hail up to golf ball size and a few isolated tornadoes.
Concerning heavy rainfall, widespread 1-3" is expected along and south of the I-70 corridor, with locally higher amounts possible where storms train over the same locations. We've issued a flood watch for river and creek flooding that includes the KC metro and areas south from 7PM tonight through 10AM Wednesday to account for this threat.
