“See your name everywhere.” — Richard S. Coleman 🔥
A powerful message shared during last week’s graduation ceremony at Coastal State Prison 🎓
Moments later, an inmate speaker echoed those same words…a reminder that growth, accountability, and second chances begin with believing your story is not over. 🙏🏽
A moving and dignified ceremony that reflected hope, hard work, redemption, and the power of a new chapter. 💙 🫱🏻🫲🏾

🚔 BUCKLE UP, CHATHAM COUNTY! 🚔
The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and agencies across the state for the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign from May 18–31, 2026.
Deputies will conduct increased traffic enforcement throughout the Memorial Day holiday travel period, focusing on:
✔️ Seat belt compliance
✔️ Child passenger safety
✔️ Distracted driving
✔️ Speeding
✔️ Impaired driving
Seat belts save lives. Every trip. Every time.
Sheriff Richard S. Coleman reminds all motorists to make safety a priority this summer by buckling up before putting the vehicle in motion.
The campaign also marks the start of the “100 Days of Summer HEAT” initiative, continuing through Labor Day weekend as CCSO works proactively to reduce crashes and improve roadway safety throughout
Chatham County Remember:
🔹 Wear your seat belt
🔹 Secure children properly
🔹 Put the phone away
🔹 Never drive impaired
🔹 Slow down and drive safely

Before the first pitch is thrown or the lights come up for tonight’s concert, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit is already at work conducting security sweeps to help ensure venues are safe for the thousands of families, fans, and visitors expected to gather.
Public safety takes many forms. Some of it happens quietly, long before an event begins. Our deputies and K-9 teams remain committed to helping keep Chatham County safe — one operation, one partnership, and one community at a time.
Sheriff Richard Coleman stated, “Our responsibility is not only to respond when something happens, but to work proactively to help prevent incidents before they occur. I’m proud of the professionalism and dedication our K-9 teams continue to demonstrate in helping keep our community safe.”
