What’s happening in Savannah is something special.

Yesterday, our CEO John R. Moeller Jr. spent time with our Refugee & Immigrant Services team at White Bluff Presbyterian Church and saw firsthand the impact of a small but mighty group walking alongside newcomers every single day.

From social adjustment to employment support, this team is helping families build stability and independence, with 85% of those resettled now economically self-sufficient. He heard about youth thriving in after-school and summer programs and witnessed a growing community hub taking shape, where a food pantry, the Grow Initiative, and RIS services are coming together to strengthen support for the whole family.

And they’re doing it all while navigating real challenges, from shifting funding landscapes to anti-immigrant sentiment in the community.

Their work is powerful. Their impact is real. And their commitment never wavers.

There’s something powerful about gathering around a table… sharing a meal, swapping stories, and dreaming about what’s possible.

Today, our CEO John Moeller spent time with our incredible Disability Services team in Savannah, where conversation flowed from moments of heartbreak to stories of real triumph. These are the moments that remind us why this work matters so deeply.

Together, they celebrated the lives being impacted every single day… and even began dreaming about what’s next. From strengthening services to the possibility of one day partnering to purchase a group home, the vision is clear: expanding opportunities, deepening care, and continuing to walk alongside individuals on their journey from surviving to thriving.

We are so grateful for a team that not only shows up with compassion and dedication… but also dares to dream bigger for the communities we accompany 💛

Marc came to South Georgia from Haiti with Temporary Protected Status. Through our Refugee & Immigrant Services Social Adjustment Program, he got connected to ESL classes, healthcare support, and - thanks to Bike Walk Savannah - a new bicycle he now rides to work and class every week.

This is what new beginnings look like. His determination is making it happen — one ride at a time.
