Today for our JROTC Cadet of the Week, we are highlighting CDT Samantha Salazar from Forest Hill Community High School!

"Cadet CPT Samantha Salazar is an exemplary role model and the embodiment of perseverance. JROTC has been her foundation since 9th grade, but it was in 10th grade that she discovered her true challenge in Marksmanship. From the start, she adapted quickly, overcoming every obstacle in her path and rising above all obstacles to compete at the Florida State Championship this past weekend. Now in 11th grade, with only 1.5 years on the Marksmanship Team, Cadet Salazar earned 1st place in the kneeling position and 7th place overall in the state of Florida, a remarkable achievement. Beyond Marksmanship, Cadet Salazar excels in multiple leadership and team roles. She serves as the Battalion S3, JLAB Team Captain, Drum Line member, Drill Team member, and performs in numerous Color Guard events. Despite her demanding schedule, she consistently maintains a 3.85+ GPA in the rigorous IB Program and is on the Honor Roll every year. Cadet Salazar is a true team player, a leader among her peers, and a trusted Cadet in the program. She exemplifies dedication, resilience, and excellence, and stands as a proud reflection of the JROTC mission."
