Today, May 1, CAT celebrates strength, unity, and legacy.

You’re looking at the first all-women’s bus operator class hired at Chatham Area Transit—and 20 years later, they’re still standing strong. Meet Johnnie McMillan, Kina Bryan, Laverne Haynes, and Brenda Mallett Godfrey.

Through life’s highs and lows, they’ve lifted one another up, forming a bond that goes far beyond the wheel. Their compassion has extended into the community, always showing up for others in meaningful ways.

Today, we celebrate not only what they’ve accomplished, but the powerful example they continue to set.

Join us in saluting these phenomenal women!
