If you’re looking for a dog with personality, confidence, and just the right amount of sass, allow us to introduce Cider. 🐾

At 4½ years old, Cider has spent 92 days waiting for her forever home, and we can’t figure out why. She’s playful, dog-friendly, clearly great with kids (especially those that are comfortable around dogs), and absolutely lives for treats. In fact, she loves them so much that she can be a little jumpy and grabby, but that treat obsession will come in handy as it makes her incredibly trainable. She’s very smart and eager to learn!

Cider isn’t shy about sharing her opinions and likes to make her voice heard, but once she gets comfortable, she’s all about fun, games, and zoomies. She’d thrive with an active family that appreciates her confidence, her goofy energy, and her big personality.

Cider is heartworm positive, but don’t let that scare you away - we cover her treatment. What you’ll get in return is a loyal, playful best friend who will keep you laughing and make every day a little more interesting.

Ready to add a little spice (and a lot of love) to your life? Come meet Cider today. 🧡

It’s the LAST DAY of our summer adoption promomtion - Cider and all the other dogs at our adoption center are just $50 and cats are $30!

Not every shelter dog is meant for the typical pet life, and sometimes, that’s exactly what makes them extraordinary. 🐾

Dunk came to us in March as a transfer from Chatham County Animal Services, and the more we worked with him, the more it became clear that he was destined for something bigger. He is incredibly smart, driven, fearless, eager to work, and absolutely obsessed with toys...all qualities that made him a perfect candidate for search and rescue work.

In April, a referral was submitted for Dunk to the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation (SDF) in California, an organization that recruits high-drive shelter dogs from across the country and trains them to become search and rescue dogs for disaster response teams.

After advancing through an extensive assessment process - including mock search scenarios, reactions to strangers and dogs, toy drive evaluations, field hunts, nerve testing, and more - Dunk officially earned his spot in the program! 👏

On Monday, he began his journey to the SDF National Training Facility, where he arrived safely and will soon begin approximately 8–10 months of search and rescue training. Once completed, he’ll be paired with a handler and work toward FEMA Urban Search & Rescue certification so he can one day deploy during times of disaster and emergency.

We could not be more proud of this incredible boy and cannot wait to follow along as he begins this next chapter. From shelter dog to future search and rescue hero...we are rooting for you, Dunk! 🐕🧡

Wallflowers in the adoption center, but with the right home environment we know they will thrive 🥹🐾

Today’s office dogs are Valentino and Luther - two very shy boys with big feelings and even bigger hearts. New people and new environments can feel overwhelming for them, but with a confident dog friend by their side, they start to feel safe enough to let their personalities peek through.

They’re looking for patient homes with another friendly, confident pup to help show them the ropes and remind them the world isn’t so scary.

And the timing couldn’t be better — our adoption special runs through TODAY as we work hard to make space, especially for our dogs!

🐶 Dogs $50
🐱 Cats $30

Come meet your new best friend today, open now until 6pm. 🧡🫶🏻

Sadie is the kind of dog who believes personal space is overrated…and honestly, she’s right. 🧡

She is incredibly loyal, gentle, and social, and she’s been proving every day that her favorite place in the world is right next to you. Sit down? Congratulations, you now have a lap dog. Standing up? She will follow. Walking to the kitchen? She’s already there emotionally and physically.

Sadie attaches to her people almost instantly and quickly becomes your little shadow with four paws and a whole lot of love. She’s affectionate, calm, and has a sweet, goofy personality that makes you wonder how she’s still available.

Over the time she’s been in foster care, she’s truly blossomed into an amazing companion. She is extremely well-behaved and well-mannered, making her an easy fit for many homes. She loves people of all ages, which makes her a wonderful family dog. While she’s only had limited dog interactions so far, she seems like she could enjoy a canine sibling. (Cats and other pets are still unknown.)

Her foster family has absolutely fallen in love with her, but sadly Sadie will be returning to the Humane Society of Greater Savannah at the end of May if she isn’t adopted first. Of course we would welcome her with open arms, but would love nothing more than for her to go straight into a forever home of her own.

Sadie is ready to trade shelter life for couch life, snack life, and “you are my entire personality now” life.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you fiercely, follow you everywhere, and make you smile daily, Sadie is most definitely your girl.

For more information on Sadie, please call 912-429-1042 or email [email protected].

Kiren recently got to enjoy a sleepover with our Community Impact Manager, Sara, and let’s just say, this goofy, smart, toy-loving boy made himself right at home. 🥰

After 159 days with us, we loved getting to see Kiren decompress in a home environment...romping in the backyard, carrying toys around proudly, “supervising” kitchen activities (aka begging for food while Sara cooked), and curling up in bed for a full night’s sleep without making a peep. He may take a little time to adjust to new surroundings (and mysterious things like robot vacuums and Alexa voices 😅), but once he settles in, his sweet and loyal personality really shines.

Kiren is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and responds well to guidance and structure. He’d thrive with an active family willing to continue working with him and give him outlets for all his energy and big personality. He loves being near his people, adores toys, and has so much love to give.

While cats are likely not the best fit for him, a very slow and patient introduction could potentially work in the right home. Around kids, Kiren can sometimes forget just how strong he is, so respectful older children who understand boundaries would likely be the best match for him.

As one of our Lonely Hearts, Kiren’s adoption fee has been reduced, and we would absolutely love to see this special boy finally find the forever home he’s been waiting 159 days for. Come meet him this week! 🙏🏻🐾
