🐈‍⬛ Look who we found! Last week as a call for service was wrapping up, one of our officers decided to investigate a strange noise coming from an overgrown area nearby.

🙀 She was surprised when she saw six kittens who didn’t appear to be feral, and were in need of food, medical care, and a home. The officer spent her weekend off working to find a rescue shelter or resource that could help.

👮 In the meantime, she and fellow officers spent several days checking on the cats and making sure that they were fed. She eventually found All About Cats - Cat Sanctuary who told her that if she could safely trap and transport the kittens, All About Cats would do the rest.

🐱CCPD officers volunteered to help, and all of the cats— even one stubborn kitten who seemed to want to go it alone — were rescued and taken to the sanctuary.

❤️ We’re happy to report that Savannah, Tybee, River, Ellis, Whitaker, and Forsyth all passed their veterinary exams with flying colors yesterday, and are in wonderful foster homes until they can be adopted. And, it looks like two of them are going to find their forever homes with two of our officers. We love a happy ending!

🚨🦉A former Ho***rs manager has just been arrested by our patrol officers in connection with two recent burglaries at the business.

🚔 William Crisman is charged with two felony counts of second degree burglary, and is enroute to the Chatham County Detention Center.

🔎 An investigation was launched by our Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division after a suspect entered the restaurant on two separate occasions and burglarized it after it was closed for the night.

🏆💵 An elderly victim was convinced to send $500 in order to claim millions they were told they won in a Reader's Digest sweepstakes last week during a phone scam reported to us.

🚩 Any time you are required to send money in order to make more money (or claim a prize) you are almost certainly dealing with a scam.

🎉 Remember, if you're lucky enough to win, it shouldn't cost you a fee.

🗣️ Help us prevent this kind of victimization by sharing this information with someone you believe could be vulnerable.

🚔🦐Stealing an air fryer -- and then grabbing a bag of frozen seafood to go along with it -- apparently seemed like a good idea to a shoplifting suspect we arrested the other day. And while plenty of theft from merchants still happens, we're happy to report that shoplifting incidents in our jurisdiction are down 23 percent over this time last year.

"I put all my trust into them when I threw my girls out of that window."

The story of our officers’ rescue of two children from the Georgetown apartment fire in April will reach a national audience Saturday. ABC’s “Hearts of Heroes” hosted by Brooke Shields will air at 11 am in our area on WJCL-TV, and will be available on YouTube starting next week.

We want to find out who this is, and we need your help. The person in this boat was involved in an incident on the Wilmington River near the Tybee Cut on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Please let us know if you recognize him or the vessel. (Edit: And, yes, we've run the registration. The Chatham County Police Department's Marine Patrol has been investigating incidents on our waterways for decades, so we're not looking for advice on how to manage the case. We need specifics about this individual and his dealings with the vessel.)

⛽ 💵 We've made an arrest in a "free gas for under-the-table cash scheme."

🚔 Chatham County Police Department officers arrested 25-year-old Tiffany Jones on Wednesday and charged her with felony theft by taking. Jones was booked into the Chatham County Detention Center.

💰The Chatham County Police Department investigation found that between August and October of this year, more than three thousand gallons of diesel fuel was pumped without being paid for – amounting to more than $20,000 in losses to the business. The investigation found eighteen incidents where an employee was paid between $100 and $500 in cash that they pocketed, and then allowed the customer to forgo paying at the pump. The incidents happened at the Circle K located in the 5500 block of Highway 21.

💵 The $80,000 taken from an elderly scam victim has been recovered. Many of you saw our post yesterday, and we wanted to give you an update. Earlier this week, we also recovered $6,000 dollars that another victim lost to a different scam.

It is very unusual for us to be able to recoup money for victims. But when it happens, it is because the crime was quickly reported to police and the victim’s financial institution.

If you realize you have been a victim of a financial scam, please do not let fear or embarrassment keep you from reporting it. The faster you report what has happened to you, the more likely it will be that some of your money can be recovered.

🚨🚨 UPDATE 10/15/26 9:41 am We are happy to let everyone know that the more than $80,000 that was scammed from one of these victims was recovered.

The quicker scams are reported to banks and police, the more likely we are to be able to recover the funds. It is still very unusual for us to be able to recoup money for scam victims. But when it does happen, it is always because the crime was reported quickly.

🚨 Two elderly victims on the Islands lost a combined total of more than $100 thousand dollars in the last week because they were conned into thinking that their computer was infected with a virus.

💻 In both incidents, the victims said a pop-up appeared on their computer warning that the computer was infected with a virus.

💰 By the time the scam was over, one victim had sent more than $80 thousand dollars to the scammers and another had sent more than $28 thousand.

🚩 Never click on pop-ups or links in unexpected texts or emails.

🚩 Do not send or transfer money when someone claims your bank account or personal data has been compromised. Instead, contact your financial institution directly to verify. If there is an issue, they will help you solve it.

🚔 Skidaway Island fraud suspect #3 has been arrested.

Our detectives arrested 18-year-old Jamari Timmons yesterday on an active warrant for felony financial transaction card fraud. Timmons was booked into the Chatham County Detention Center.

The charges stem from several incidents in the Skidaway Island area, and the investigation into those crimes remains active and ongoing.

In September, we arrested 23-year-old Koronte Edwards and 22-year-old Jamaal Alija Green on felony financial transaction card fraud charges in connection with the same case.
