What a neat idea
MEET KEEPER #6 - LODRICK COLLY BROWN was born in 1800 at Gloustenbury, Connecticut . Around 1821 he moved to Perkins Township area. Three years later, he married Margaret Kelly whose father and brother John built the Marblehead Lighthouse. They had three daughters, Sarah Jane, Eunice Ann and Caroline. Lodrick was a sailor who worked his way up to being a ship captain; he often sailed in this area. From 1849-1853 he served as the 6th lightkeeper of the Marblehead Lighthouse. Lodrick finished out his years as a farmer and died in 1882. He is buried in Perkins Cemetery.

Oh WOW Jamie, the sky is on fire at sunset over the historic Cockspur Island Lighthouse
Sometimes people ask what I look for when I’m out with my camera along the Georgia coast.
For me, it’s never just about a “pretty sky.” It’s about this place I’ve called home my entire life—its rivers, barrier islands, lighthouses, forts, shrimp boats, dunes, and oak avenues—and catching it in those rare moments when everything quietly lines up.
I plan for alignments of sun, moon, tides, and the Milky Way that might only happen a few times in a lifetime. I chase the quiet in‑between hours: first light over the dunes, the last color over the marsh, or a lone swing facing a sky full of stars.
My goal is simple: to create images that feel like taking a deep breath. Pictures that let you remember a favorite trip, feel the peace of the coast after a long day, and carry a piece of Coastal Georgia’s history and beauty into your home—no matter where you live.
