Today, firefighters and EMR's from the Saxeville-Springwater Volunteer Fire Department joined several other agencies to conduct mass casualty training with live acting patients. Training in a controlled environment like this helps us sharpen our skills to be prepared when an emergency occurs. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Today we made a fire prevention visit to the Pine River Library of Leon and Saxeville Townships. We had story time, talked about what to do in an emergency, toured the trucks and even sprayed some water. Thanks to the Pine River Library of Leon and Saxeville Townships for having us!

We’re incredibly proud of the men and women who give their time to train, respond, and serve our neighbors 24/7, 365 days a year.

The Saxeville-Springwater Fire Department would like to thank Ron and Angie Lund from the Saxeville 500 for their generous donation! Donations like these help us purchase new equipment for firefighting and our emergency medical responders to provide the best services to our area! This evening was warm and humid but we didn’t let it stop us from training. This evenings scenario covered accountability, interior search and rescue, ladders, radio communications and firefighter rehab.

Yesterday's devastating tornado has left many families and communities throughout the Fox Valley facing unimaginable challenges.

On behalf of everyone at the Saxeville-Springwater Fire Department, we want the people of the Fox Valley to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We are grateful to the first responders, utility crews, volunteers, and neighbors who have stepped up to help those in need.

Please continue to keep everyone affected in your thoughts as they begin the long road to recovery. Our hearts are with all those who suffered loss, damage, or displacement.
