25 years later, we remember.
Today, we honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.
For Community Ambulance Company, this 25th anniversary carries an especially personal weight. We remember it without our Ex Chief and President Jamie Atkinson, who dedicated so much of his life to serving others and who ultimately lost his battle with a 9/11 related illness.
Jamie’s story is a reminder that the impact of that day did not end on September 11, 2001. For many who answered the call, the physical and emotional consequences continued for years and decades afterward.
Today, we remember those we lost that day. We remember those who became sick in the years that followed. And we remember our own CAC family members, like Jamie, who gave so much to the communities they served.
25 years later, we will never forget.🕯️
