Cindy- Angie is going to take care of you. They are going to do the carpets the day after we clean -Monday 10/19. You will need to leave for that. Please have your phone on and ready for communication from Texco Cleaning. They will let you know the time window; you will need to let them in.

When we met Marisol in July, she had undergone surgery for a thyroid tumor and was preparing for radioactive iodine treatment. As a single mom, that meant finding care for her three-year-old daughter while spending a week isolated at home alone.

We also noticed her braces. They had been placed three years earlier, but she couldn’t afford to continue treatment.

While facing cancer and caring for her daughter, this was one more thing she couldn’t take care of.

We reached out to supporter Amber, a hygienist at Powell Dental in SE Portland, to ask if Dr. Ryan Blair could help. He agreed, and longtime volunteer Lucero answered our call for a Spanish-speaking interpreter.

Dr. Blair took X-rays, removed Marisol’s braces, and had retainers made. Amber personally delivered them three days later. All free of charge!

We were able to take one more worry off her shoulders. Your donations covered two months of her rent for recovery, and a team of volunteers deep-cleaned her home.
