📍WILLEY FIELD UPDATE

Willey Field (off Tenney Lane) will receive a targeted pesticide application on Friday, October 23 to address a grub infestation affecting the field. The Town’s land care contractor recommended treating the damaged areas, and the Conservation Commission approved the required waiver for synthetic pesticide use under the Town’s organic pesticide policy.

⚠️Please follow all posted signage and stay off the field until signs are removed, 48 hours after treatment. A second, pre-emergence application is planned for the spring. Details will be shared closer to that date.

𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐎𝐑 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐓-𝐎𝐔𝐓: 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐎 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬!

We’re excited to give a big shout-out to our newest BINGO sponsors, Gabrielle Rioux Herbig, 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐎𝐑® 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, and 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐌𝐆 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐬!

Gabrielle and Bart have gone above and beyond in supporting our weekly BINGO program at the Hub. Their sponsorship helps us provide prizes for participants throughout the year, helping keep this popular Monday afternoon tradition going strong.

But their support doesn’t stop there! Gabrielle and Bart have also rolled up their sleeves and become part of the fun themselves, joining us every month to help call BINGO. Their willingness to spend time with our participants, get involved, and bring some energy to the room makes their support feel like so much more than a sponsorship.

We’re grateful to have community-minded partners who don’t just support our programs financially, but show up and become part of them. Thank you, Gabrielle and Bart, for your generous support and for helping make BINGO a fun and welcoming part of Mondays at the Hub!

Some friendly reminders for the next time you’re on The Eastern Trail🌳

We hope your weekend plans include getting out and enjoying the Eastern Trail!

A few friendly reminders to help keep the trail safe, beautiful, and welcoming for all:

✅ Stick to marked trails — they help protect fragile plants and wildlife.
✅ Respect private property along the route — our trail neighbors are an important part of the Eastern Trail community.
✅ Take it slow and alert others when passing — a friendly “on your left!” goes a long way.

A little courtesy and care help make every mile better for everyone.

Have a great weekend and hope to see you on the trail!

Today is the International Day of Charity, making it a great opportunity to recognize and thank our newest event sponsor, Generac.

Generac helped make this year’s Summerfest fireworks possible and has continued its support by sponsoring a games section at Sparkle in the Park.

We’re grateful for their investment in our community and their support of the events that bring our residents together. Thank you, Generac!

We had one of our biggest turnouts yet at this year’s Annual Senior BBQ, with Scarborough seniors joined by friends from South Portland housing Authority and Windham Parks & Recreation! Tom Dyhrberg joined us again this year to provide the soundtrack for the afternoon while Al’s of Scarborough served up lunch, followed by Nothing Bundt Cakes for dessert.

Thanks to everyone who spent the afternoon with us, and to our presenting sponsor, Optima Dermatology, for helping make this year’s BBQ possible!
