Just want to highlight this letter to the editor in today's Daily Gazette:

CHURCH PROVES IT HAS NO PLACE IN HEALTH CARE

The Catholic Church has proven again that it has no right to be involved with health care.

First they stole the pensions of their loyal St. Clare’s hospital workers. Now they’re threatening the Cardiology Associates of Schenectady physicians through non-compete clauses and lawsuits in an attempt to cannibalize available health care in Schenectady.

But no worries, Trinity Health and St. Peter’s have submitted plans to the state for a $17.3 million ambulatory surgery center at the Capital Region Health Park in Latham to serve surrounding counties, including Schenectady.

This healthcare system alleges they ‘serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence’ when nothing can be further from the truth.

Corporate greed has no morals.

I commend the physicians who are working to stay with Ellis and stabilize the disastrous situation that Trinity Health has created.
