On Thursday, November 5, from 3:30–5pm, our Veterans Group will visit Time for You Playcare to speak with afterschool students about their military experiences, time in service, and how those experiences have shaped who they are today.

Location: Time For You Playcare
200 Technology Park
Clifton Park, NY 12065

We are looking for veterans who would enjoy sharing their experiences and connecting with the next generation. As the students will include children as young as 5, volunteers should be comfortable speaking with young children and sharing stories in a calm, patient, and approachable manner. Stories and discussion topics should be appropriate for a mixed-age audience.

Veterans interested in participating should RSVP to Erin by November 3 at 518-605-2899.

Five Oracle certifications. $0 Zero exam fees. That’s worth your time.

If you’re building skills in cloud, AI, databases, or architecture, Oracle has five certification paths worth looking at:

OCI Foundations Associate
OCI AI Foundations Associate
Oracle AI Database Foundations Associate
Oracle Agentic AI Foundations Associate
OCI Architect Associate

And this is the important part:

The opportunity includes the certification exam, not just the training.

Here’s how to get started:
1. Go to Oracle MyLearn
2. Sign in or create a free Oracle account
3. Choose the certification path that matches your career goal
4. Review the prerequisites, training, and exam requirements
5. Complete the lessons and practice activities
6. Use the exam-prep resources
7. Confirm the exam is still listed as free before registering
8. Pass the exam and earn the credential

One important reminder:
Finishing the training does not automatically earn the certification. You still have to pass the exam.
Some professional-level training may also require paid access, so check the details before committing.
For the military community, take advantage of opportunities like this before spending your own money or using education benefits.

But don’t collect certifications just because they’re free.

Pick the credential that gets you closer to the job you want.
