When it comes to training the next generation of Fly-Away Security Team (FAST) Defenders, 932nd Airlift Wing Citizen Airmen are leading the instruction.

Congratulations to Tech. Sgt. Joi Gaffney and Staff Sgt. Dylan Bowman, who recently served as instructor cadre during the 22nd Air Force FAST course hosted by the 916th Air Refueling Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina.

Alongside cadre from the 916th ARW, 507th Air Refueling Wing and 934th Airlift Wing, Gaffney and Bowman trained students on critical mission requirements—ensuring Reserve Defenders are prepared to safeguard aircraft, crews and mission assets in high-threat, austere locations across the globe.

Outstanding job representing the 932nd AW and the security forces enterprise!

: Better Late Than Never! 📸✈️ ⛑️🚌

We found these incredible photos from our June Unit Training Assembly training event four months ago tucked away, and they are simply too good not to share!

Check out the Air Force Reserve Airmen of the 932nd Aeromedical Staging Squadron (ASTS) and the 932nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES) in action at Scott Air Force Base.

During this dedicated training event, our teams practiced the critical, life-saving transition of care. The 932nd ASTS operated as the vital link on the ground—triaging, stabilizing, and prepping patients.

They then executed a seamless hand-off to the 932nd AES, who specialize in keeping patients safe, stable, and cared for at 30,000 feet.

Hands-on training events like this keep our skills sharp and ensure that when the call comes, the 932nd is ready to deliver world-class care from the ground to the air.

Repetitive, realistic training events are where muscle memory is built. Our Reserve Airmen bring elite civilian medical skills to these events, ensuring our joint-force capabilities remain unmatched.

A full hour of commitment.

On September 17th, the 932nd team stepped up to the track for the Scott Air Force Base Prisoners of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) Vigil Run, honoring America's prisoners of war and missing in action. It’s more than just a run, it’s a promise to always stand for those who cannot.

How do you honor our heroes? Let us know in the comments below. 👇

A 19-mile course. A 24.25 lb load. An oppressive, humid morning and a brutal, scorching day.

Starting off in the dark at 5 a.m. on September 12, 2026, members of the 932nd Airlift Wing pushed their minds and bodies to the absolute limit—and successfully earned the prestigious Norwegian Foot March Badge (Marsjmerket)! 🎖️

What is the Marsjmerket?

First held in 1915, this official foreign military-skills badge is designed to test physical endurance, mental resilience, and combat readiness under realistic field conditions. To earn the right to wear it on their service uniforms, participants had to meet strict, non-negotiable standards:

The Distance: 18.64 miles (30 km) on foot (our local Scott AFB course tracked long at ~19 miles).

The Load: A military rucksack dry weighing at least 24.25 lbs (11 kg) at both the start and finish lines.

The Time Limits: Beating rigorous cutoffs tailored by age and gender.

🏆 THE 932nd AW EARNERS

Huge shoutout to our exceptional Air Force Reserve Airmen and civilian from across the Gateway Wing who met the standard, beat the clock, and earned their badge!

Twenty-five years ago, evil attacked our homeland.

Nearly 3,000 Americans never made it home. Firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, and ordinary Americans answered the call with extraordinary courage.

We honor their lives. We remember their sacrifice. We will never forget.

God bless the fallen, their families, and the United States of America.

As we gear up for the unit training assembly drill weekend ahead, we are throwing it back again to the Homestead Air Reserve Base flightline during our 2022 training flyaway. From marshaling aircraft in to keeping every detail locked down, our maintainers are the backbone of the mission. The teamwork and camaraderie of the Gateway Wing keep us Air Force Reserve Ready on the ground and in the air. Let's make it a fantastic drill weekend! ✈️🇺🇸
