The Scott City Fire Department is continuing to conduct annual fire hydrant flow testing and maintenance operations throughout the Industrial area.

During this time, you may notice discolored water as naturally occurring sediment is stirred within the water lines. If this occurs, simply let your water run for a few minutes until it clears.

Residents may also experience a temporary drop in water pressure while nearby hydrants are being tested. This is normal and should be brief, as each hydrant is operated for only a short period.

These operations are an important part of ensuring our hydrants are ready and functioning properly to help protect our community in the event of an emergency.

Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep Scott City prepared and protected.
