We are in the final stretch for the big day in Wabbaseka City Saturday September 5th Labor Day weekend Heritage and Scatterfest. And the marker presentation for Sylvia Burton. Our entertainment will be gospel, blues and roots music. What we are looking for today is names of other musicians or musical groups, regardless of genre that has at one time called Wabbaseka home. We know of gospel great Lemmie Battles, blues man Coot Hunley Campbell and the Arledge Brothers Band. Can you help us with more? I remember hearing the past Mayor Reverend George Barnes singing the lowdown blues on a stage ( or trailer) underneath the unemployment tree at one of the first Scatterfest. Please help us honor all the past on September 5th. Billy Jeter

The event will also feature lawn games, food trucks, and other family-friendly activities. The antique tractors will parade in the park at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Visitors can view the park’s collection of antique tractors, a 1919 Munger cotton gin and press, a restored seed warehouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and artifacts related to the history of agriculture in Arkansas. Preregistration is not required, and there’s no fee to exhibit. The tractor show will also include vendors, family-friendly activities, historic demonstrations and opening of the museum’s fall exhibit on pecan growing in Arkansas..
