🤝Working Together for Safer Communities🤝

Today, Scottsboro Police Chief Greg Godfrey joined law enforcement leaders from across North Alabama, along with representatives from the FBI, DEA, and ATF, for a press conference recognizing the success of the FBI’s Operation Summer Heat.

This initiative demonstrates the impact that coordinated law enforcement efforts can have on communities throughout our region. Through proactive investigations, intelligence sharing, and cooperation between agencies, Operation Summer Heat has resulted in the removal of illegal fi****ms and dangerous drugs from our streets, as well as the apprehension of individuals involved in criminal activity.

Criminal activity does not stop at city limits or county lines, and neither should the efforts to combat it. Strong relationships between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies are essential to identifying threats, disrupting criminal operations, and ensuring those responsible are held accountable.

At the Scottsboro Police Department, protecting our community remains our highest priority. We recognize that effective law enforcement requires more than the efforts of any single agency. It takes communication, cooperation, and a shared commitment to public safety.

We appreciate the dedication of our law enforcement partners and the continued efforts of the FBI and other participating agencies in making North Alabama a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.

Different agencies.
One mission.
Safer communities.

We are thankful that we had the opportunity to help with the mock trial in the 8th grade ELA class at KDS DAR Middle School today. These kids put in a lot of hard work and effort, and it was a fantastic learning experience for them.

We would also like to thank Scottsboro Municipal Judge Deborah Dunsmore, Attorneys Doug Benson and Emily Cotner, and paralegal Misty Godfrey (our Chief's better half) for assisting with this learning endeavor.
