Today, Allen County EMS remembers Trooper Hayden Phillips.

Today should have been a day filled with birthday wishes, laughter, and celebration. Instead, Kentucky is mourning a husband, a father, a son, a friend, and a fellow first responder.

Trooper Hayden Phillips was killed in the line of duty on September 28 while serving the people of the Commonwealth. He leaves behind his wife, Jordan, and their three young sons. Today would have been his 29th birthday.

There are no words that can make sense of a loss like this.

But there is something we can do.

We can remember him.

We can remember the man behind the badge.
The husband who was deeply loved.
The father whose boys will grow up hearing stories about their dad.
The trooper who answered the call to protect people he may never have known.
The first responder who gave everything in service to his Commonwealth.

Today, instead of simply saying Happy Birthday, we say:

Happy Birthday, Hayden.

Your life mattered.
Your service mattered.
Your sacrifice matters.

And to Jordan and those three boys—on a day that should have been filled with celebration, please know that your Kentucky family is standing beside you. We will remember Hayden’s name. We will remember his service. And we will continue to speak of the man he was long after the sirens grow quiet.

Rest easy, Trooper Phillips.
We have the watch from here.

💙🖤🇺🇸

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Woody’s official last day after 20 years of dedicated service to Allen County Ambulance Service.

I knew this day was coming, but it hit me a lot harder than I thought it would.

Woody has been so much more than a coworker—he has been my best friend at work. If I needed to vent, complain, work through a problem, or just needed some good advice, Woody was always the one I called. I’ve always called them my “Woody talks,” and even though he’s retiring, I have a feeling those talks aren’t going anywhere.

In all these years, I honestly can’t remember hearing one person who has worked with Woody as a partner say anything bad about him. Quite the opposite—they would gladly work beside him again. That says everything about the kind of partner, paramedic, coworker, and person he is.

Woody’s retirement is a tremendous loss for Allen County Ambulance Service. Twenty years of dedication, experience, compassion, and service can’t simply be replaced.

Woody, thank you for everything you have given to Allen County, our service, our patients, and especially those of us who have had the privilege of working beside you.

You will be greatly missed, and you will never be replaced. I’m going to miss having you here more than I can put into words—but I’ll always be grateful for the years, the memories, the laughs, the advice, and especially all those “Woody talks.”

Congratulations on your retirement, my friend. You’ve earned it. ❤️🚑
