We were proud to join the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce and Chambers of Commerce across NEPA for LEAD: Legislation, Education & Advocacy Day, now in its third year of collaboration with SACF! 🌟

The day brought together keynote speaker Akbar Hossain, Pennsylvania's Secretary of Policy and Planning, along with panels of mayors and local legislators. Our own Koren L. Clark, Community Impact Manager, moderated the "Childcare as Workforce Infrastructure" panel.

Thank you to the Chambers for the invitation and to everyone who joined the conversation. Strong communities start with these partnerships.

Our team was honored to present at the 2026 Pennsylvania Community Foundation Association (PACFA) Annual Conference in Hershey, PA, last week! 🌟

Laura Ducceschi, Cathy Fitzpatrick, and Maggie Martinelli led the session, "Removing Deadlines, Reducing Barriers and Increasing Grantee Trust," sharing our revised grants process and continued commitment to making giving more accessible for our nonprofit partners.

We're grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this important conversation alongside community foundations from across Pennsylvania.

On September 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, we're hosting "Women Who Shaped Lackawanna County" — a panel discussion celebrating the women who've shaped our region's past, present, and future. 🌟

Meet one of our panelists: Sarah Piccini.

Sarah has served as Assistant Director of The Lackawanna Historical Society since 2013. As a public historian, her research has taken her from the struggles of industrial labor history into women's history, with a bit of fashion history thrown in for fun!

Come hear from Sarah and more, as we explore how women have led and built community across Lackawanna County.

Register for free at safdn.org/wip-panel.
