Please, Please, Please, talk with your parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents and so on about phone scams, emails and any other way someone may contact them. In Archbald Borough over the last two months. Elderly residents have been fraudulently scammed of over $600,000 dollars. These scammers will send people to their homes and transport them to banks, ATM's and any other locations to withdraw money or make purchases. You can always contact us if you or someone you know thinks they are being scammed of money.

"I received a call at 2:18 pm today June 17, 2026. The caller identified himself as Jousha Henderson a Lackawanna County Sheriff Officer.

The number he called from was 570-771-9288. His email only said “Sheriff”,



He said he was calling me regarding a Bench Warrant for my arrest, my crime was failing to show up for Federal Jury Duty and a second charge for Contempt of Court since my not showing up cause a delay in the Trial.



As the attached shows, my Bail was set at $50,000 per occurrence of which $10% was $10,000 that I needed to bring immediately to the Lackawanna Sheriff’s Office in Scranton. As per the Judges’s Order he was required to maintain constant contact with me until I arrived. He sounded very convincing.



While I was speaking with him my wife called the bank on her phone and they told her that it was a scam. I told him my wife called the Lackawanna Seriff’s Office, and they said he wasn’t real. He immediately hung up".
