Homecoming Celebration 2026!
Thank You NS Community for an Outstanding Homecoming!
Vikings Are Victorious vs. Tornados!
It was a cool day for the North Shore Schools 2026 Homecoming Celebration on Saturday, October 17th. From toddlers to alumni the Homecoming offered something fun for everyone! Thank you to the entire North Shore community for an incredible Homecoming 2026! Congratulations! to the North Shore Vikings Football team for triumphing over Lawrence, 48-0, and all of the students, families, alumni, and community members who came out to cheer for them!
To kick-off the day, numerous Pre-K-12th graders, faculty, parents, and residents, enthusiastically participated in a wonderful Homecoming Carnival with fun games for all ages. In the HS Cafeteria, Interim Superintendent Dr. Tom Dolan, BOE President (alumna) Dr. Andrea Macari, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Dr. Carol Ann Smyth, Alumni Coordinator Ms. Shelly Newman Assistant, BOE members, and Food Service Director Mr. Alan Levin and his kitchen staff (Basma Hanafy and Anna Szarej-Doherty) hosted a delicious Alumni Brunch.
Thank you to the many alumni in attendance who shared North Shore stories, participated in a raffle, drank Viking Spritzer mocktails, and listened to the beautiful sounds of the HS String Quintet. A HS tour followed led by Head Custodian Jerry Boertzel (Class of ’77) and Principal Eric Contreras. Thank you to Dr. Mari Saunders (alumna of the Class of 1943) who joined in the fun later in the day! Additionally, thank you to our Viking Mascot and HS SGO students for assisting at the Alumni Brunch.
During the Homecoming Fan Fest, you could see the joy on everyone’s faces as students, parents, residents, and alumni joined in the fun. Beginning at 11 am, the elementary sports clinics where our older Vikings took to the field and gym to teach their younger peers how to throw a football, hit a volleyball, and cheer on out the teams! At approximately 1 pm, the large crowd moved into Stadium Field for the pre-game show including the Fun Run and performances by our Pep Band, Drum Line, and Cheerleaders. Thank you to the band and drum line for playing numerous popular songs that set the upbeat tone for the afternoon under the direction of Mr. Bromsey. At 1:30 pm, the Vikings took to the field to a thunderous round of applause from all those in the stands. During halftime, alumni of all ages came onto the field for a photograph! Thank you to all the alumni for joining us this year! Thank you to MS Principal Dr. Ryan O'Hara for speaking and sharing that the game was dedicated to Mrs. Nicole Larkin, a dedicated and popular MS teacher, who passed away this year due to a long illness.
A big “thank you” goes out to the Vikings Booster Club and Parent Organizations along with high school classes who sold various North Shore merchandise in support of our schools and programs including the HS Asian Alliance who made Boba Tea! Also, many thanks to the Homecoming Committee, Rachael Bowen, the Parent Associations including HS PTO, the Arts Angels at North Shore, the Athletics Department and Booster Club, the Alumni Committee, Board of Education, administrators, alumni, faculty, students, and North Shore community for an outstanding day!
Go Vikings!
