After Gapping the (opening inward door) with a metal jamb, the next move is the Clearing Move to clear out the damaged locks from the original Gapping Move. In this video I’m showing you the proper way to do it.
For more in depth Forcibly Entry techniques, scroll down this page and check out all the different FE techniques used for different door forcing scenarios.
As always stay safe and God bless.

In this video, I accidentally call Gianni my “Irons Man” when he was actually my, what we call in the FDNY, “The Can Man”.
Other departments call the guy hitting with the axe “The Striker”.
The Irons Man in this video is actually me the guy controlling the Halligan Bar. The person using the Halligan Bar is the person controlling the force.
For Under-Maned departments that don’t always have the luxury of 2 firefighters to force the door, I show in another video using an actual door how by myself with just a Halligan Bar and some Chocks can force a door with the same 3 locks on the door.
Please check out that video and let me know what you think.
Stay safe all. 👍

In this video, I am showing the very next move to do after Gapping an Inward Opening door with a metal jamb.
In other videos, I refer to this move as the “Clearing Move” because after Gapping this move most of the time pops the already weakened Deadbolt out of the Keeper Hole in the door jamb.
I suggest you look back at the Pinned Video on this page comparing the prop to a real door. In that video, you see the Gapping and Clearing move to pop the door k**b and deadbolt of a real door in two moves.
Let me know in the comments if these videos help you out.
Thanks and Stay Safe All !!!

When forcing an Inward Opening Door, with Metal Jambs, always Gap the door by placing the ADZ End of the Halligan Bar between the metal door-stop and the door and then Gap in the opposite direction of the spike. As you can see in the video, after setting the ADZ the Spike is pointing up on a Left Hand swinging door. Gapping opposite the Spike will give you full throw of the ADZ.
In the next video I will be showing you the very next technique to apply after the initial Gapping move.

Thanks, and Stay Safe !

Just a little suggestion on how to operate as safe as possible when 2 man forcible entry must be used. All your members should be able to hit the Halligan from either a right hand or a left hand swing so that the handle of the axe has less of a chance of coming into contact with the leg of the person operating the Halligan. Something to practice before you actually have to do it at a fire. Thanks for watching.
Stay safe all !!!

Most Private Dwellings have Inward Opening Doors with Wooden jambs.
This is a quick way to force these doors.
Check out my other videos on my page where I address the scenario where the Spiking the Wooden jamb just isn’t enough to pop the door. That other video takes you through the next necessary steps to be taken.
Scroll down my page to see all the different techniques demonstrated for all the different types of doors you as a First Responder will most likely encounter.
Stay safe all and God Bless.

The video is a follow-up to the previous video.
Note that in the previous video the Gapping technique is performed on an Inward Opening door which swung to the (Right) which means you Gapping opposite the spike which is pointing down so you (Gap Up.)
Now in THIS video the Inward Swinging Door swings to the (Left) so now opposite the Spike means you Gap (Down).
This is just one of the reasons we have 2 Doors on this prop !
This assures that you train with the proper technique for whatever direction the door you’re forcing in the field presents you with.
Also in this video we show different techniques used on (Outward Opening Doors) addressing problems that Police personnel face with possibly being shot at through the door !
Please check out all the other helpful videos on this page and let me know what you think.
Stay Safe All and God Bless 👍

In this video we are forcing the inward door that swings to the right after forcing the outward swinging door. That mean that the Gapping direction in this case will be going opposite the point which is the upward direction.
In the next video the inward swinging door will be swinging to the left which will change the Gapping direction to the downward motion. Plus in the next video we will be changing some of the techniques. Remember both doors do inward and outward swinging so that whatever scenario you encounter in the field, you can practice your techniques on this prop !
Let me know what you think. As always Stay Safe.

Part 4 — close quarters, now with the Hydra Ram.

Same tight two man setup from the last three videos. This time we’re bringing in the hydraulic bunny tool as another option when you’re working in close quarters.

Different tool, different approach — just another technique to add to the mental toolbox depending on what the situation calls for.

Have you trained with the Hydra Ram in tight spaces? Is it part of your rig’s arsenal? Drop it below 👇

Stay safe out there. 🔥
