Please complete and return the application/waiver by Wednesday, October 21st,2026, at 5:30 p.m. Completed applications must be submitted by one of the following methods:

Seagoville Fuel Thief Captured In The Act !!!

**On September 24, 2026, at approximately 4:24 a.m., Seagoville Police Department officers responded to a reported theft in progress at a residential construction site in the 1500 block of E. Simonds Road.

A security company representative monitoring the site’s surveillance cameras observed a white male actively stealing fuel from an on‑site storage tank and provided dispatch with the suspect and vehicle description.

Upon arrival, the responding officers located the suspect’s vehicle unoccupied. Dispatch advised officers that the individual had fled on foot into the surrounding area.

To assist in the search, an officer deployed a department issued drone. Using its infrared thermal imaging capabilities, the drone operator detected a human heat signature concealed in an area of dense brush and tall weeds. Ground officers were directed to the location, where they found the suspect hiding on the ground.

The individual, identified as Danny Newby, 40 years of age, was detained without further incident.

Newby was charged with the offense of Theft of Petroleum Product or Oil and Gas Equipment under $10,000.00. Newby also had an active warrant for his arrest.**

September recap! Patrol officers stayed busy responding to calls, making arrests, and keeping our community safe around the clock. Dispatch was just as relentless, fielding nonstop calls and coordinating responses like absolute pros.

All occupants involved in the pictured motor vehicle accident are okay.

Huge shoutout to every member of the Seagoville Police Department for their dedication, and teamwork.

Starting pay for a police recruit is $71,594 and after completion of the Police Academy the pay ranges from $78,232 to $96,216 over eight years. Additionally, you can earn up to $9,000 dollars in yearly incentive pay.

Lateral officers can come in starting at step four, depending upon prior years of police service.

Me gustaría tomar un momento para destacar a un grupo verdaderamente excepcional de damas y caballeros que trabajan incansablemente para el Departamento de Policía de Seagoville. ¡Excelente trabajo, chicos, y sigan así!

Over the past year, the Seagoville Police Department Communications Center has navigated staffing challenges, new employees, schedule changes, updated procedures, training initiatives, technology and facility changes, and a move into a newly remodeled communications center.
Through it all, 9-1-1 never stopped ringing.

This team has answered calls involving homicides, pursuits, violent disturbances, medical emergencies, fires, suicidal callers, frightened children, and countless other moments when someone needed help. They have managed difficult calls, supported one another through challenging days, helped train new employees, strengthened their procedures, and continued looking for ways to make their center better.

But perhaps what stands out most is how they take care of one another.

They check in after difficult calls. They step in when a coworker needs help. They celebrate each other's successes. They learn from mistakes instead of hiding from them. And no matter how difficult the previous call may have been, they put on the headset and answer the next one with the same professionalism and care.

That is what makes the Seagoville Police Department Communications Center a true team of Headset Heroes.

The Seagoville Police Department is excited to announce our annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Bruce Central Park (1801 N. Hwy. 175, Seagoville, TX 75159).

This engaging evening offers a fantastic opportunity for our community to connect with local first responders and enjoy a fun-filled night. Get an up-close look at various emergency response vehicles, including police cars, fire trucks, and even a medical helicopter!

Families will find a wide variety of activities to enjoy, such as bounce houses, pumpkin painting, and exciting games. You'll have the chance to meet with local businesses, city council members, and the mayor.

National Night Out is an event we look forward to every year, as it's a vital part of building strong, positive relationships between our department and the wonderful citizens of Seagoville. We can't wait to see you there!
