SEASIDE, Ore. – October 13, 2026 – Seaside Police ask for the public’s help identifying a driver whose vehicle struck a dog at approximately 7:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12 on North Wahanna Road near Shore Terrace and left without stopping.

The vehicle is believed to be a dark gray 2006 to 2012 Toyota Corolla with significant damage to the front passenger side, including missing portions of the bumper and inner fender liner. Markings on a recovered bumper piece suggest it may be a 2009 or 2010 Corolla S or XRS. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Wahanna Road.

The dog, a one-year-old Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix, did not survive.

Police are seeking information about the vehicle or driver and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident. Those with surveillance or dashcam footage from the area around that time are also asked to contact police.

Please contact Cpl. Bill Barnes at 503-738-6311 or [email protected] with information that may assist the investigation.

**end of release**
