In the wake of the state Supreme Court ruling finding that the state’s capital gains tax is a legal excise tax, and with the City facing a revenue shortfall, I believe a municipal capital gains tax is a fair approach to addressing this funding gap.

Transportation connects us to opportunity and each other, but only if we get it right. I’ll prioritize transportation infrastructure and transit planning. Let’s finally deliver the Center City Connector Streetcar and develop a Move Seattle Levy that advances a sustainable, safe, multimodal transportation system. I'll aggressively pursue Vision Zero implementation and work to shape and harness the benefits of the West Seattle and Ballard Link Light Rail lines.
