Big things are happening in Alki! In partnership with Seattle Public Schools we recently completed major upgrades to the Alki Playground, including brand‑new play equipment for ages 2–5 and 5–12, fresh plantings, and upgraded accessibility. Nearby outdoor spaces are getting improvements, including refreshed basketball courts and a new bicycle traffic garden in partnership with Cascade Bicycle Club and Seattle Public Schools.

Childcare at Alki Community Center has reopened and SPR is exploring opportunities to make the facility available for more recreation opportunities, and expanding use of the Alki Bathhouse beyond community rentals.

Join Seattle Parks Environmental Education Naturalists for a fun, family-friendly program to celebrate the return of spawning salmon! Meet us on Saturday, October 10, at Dragonfly Park (West Seattle) 4111 26th Ave SW, from 10 AM – 12 PM!

This event is best for ages 5+ and will take an easy pace with some mild-moderate inclines.

Please keep in mind:
- Wear weather‑appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes.
- All programs take place outdoors.
- All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Discover the amazing salmon and the many creatures that depend on them.
