Join Seattle Parks Environmental Education Team Naturalists for this fun, family-friendly program at Carkeek Park! Explore the season’s colors, leaves, mushrooms, and wildlife! The Color Your Fall program must be registered and paid for through ActiveNet.

Date & Time: Saturday, October 17, 2026, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and Saturday, November 7, 2026, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Location: Carkeek Park. Meet at the information kiosk in the Lower Meadow.

Age: 4+. Family-friendly walk.

Cost: $10 (4-17 years old and 50+), $20 (18-49 years old).

The Discovery Park Beach Shuttle is back for the first time this fall for the 2026 season! The free shuttle operates Thursdays through Sundays through November 1, from 11 AM – 5 PM.

The shuttle loops between the East, North, and South Beach parking lots at Discovery Park, arriving at each stop approximately every 45 minutes, with the final departure from the beach at 4:45 PM.

Thank you to our partners at United Indians of All Tribes Foundation at Daybreak Star, who are providing the bus and driver for shuttle days this fall.

August was an exciting month at Carkeek Park and Discovery Park! With the Nature Adventure Treks and Earthkeepers Camps wrapped up, we're now restarting the Discover Park Shuttle for the fall. It will run until November 1, Thursday to Sunday from 11am to 5pm. The last shuttle leaves the beach at 4:45 pm. The shuttle loops between the Visitor Center, Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center, and North and Beach parking lots, arriving at each location every 45 minutes.

Since Sept 12, 458 people have used the bus shuttle and 1,085 people visited the Discovery Park Info Booth. At Carkeek Park, an amazing team of Seattle Parks and Recreation carpenters and Eagle Scouts are repairing our split rail fences. It's part of an Eagle Scout Service Project and will continue through the fall.

We're starting Salmon Stewards at Carkeek Park in mid-October, and the Salmon Celebration Day will be on November 21.
