World Migratory Bird Day – May 9th

This weekend, you can contribute to community science projects by counting birds! During periods of seasonal bird migration, “live” migration maps show where nocturnal bird migration is occurring in near real-time, as detected by the U.S. weather surveillance radar network between local sunset to sunrise. And - Join us at the Seward Park Audubon Center Migratory Bird Day Celebration this Saturday - We’ll also have a bird station at Seward Park from 12:00 – 3:00pm in the marshland area.

Earth Day Activities at Carkeek Park on April 18th - meet at the Carkeek Admin Building, on your right, near the entrance to the park to sign in and learn about all the areas you can volunteer. Weeding, mulching, trail work, and garbage clean up - you can also go help feed the baby salmon :-)

Cut the walking and enjoy the Discovery Park Beach! On Saturdays from June 7 to August 30, a free shuttle takes visitors from the East or North Parking Lot to the Beach lot. (Beach Lot parking is ADA only.)
Shuttle runs 11am-5:30pm, last trip leaves beach at 5:15.
