On January 7th, in Minneapolis an unidentified ICE agent emerged from an unmarked vehicle and approached Renee Nicole Good’s car while she was unarmed and shot and killed her.
The Civil Rights Congress urges everyone to demand local and state governments to protect First Amendment rights to assemble, observe, and protest ICE and other federal agents’ activities anywhere in the country.
We call upon Congress to act on behalf of the people, to enact immediate legislation for the prevention of state sanctioned violence against citizens as well as state sponsored oppression of their basic human rights, regardless of citizenship or immigration status.
